1. How long have you been coming to KEC?
John and I have been coming to KEC for over 20 years, 13 of them as volunteers.
2. What team do you volunteer in?
I have been involved with the Toddler and Mini Mite teams for 13 years and John has taken a variety of roles where he has been needed. He has helped with directing parents to the appropriate venues for the children’s programs, serving on the morning tea team and lately has helped with transporting delegates to and from the auditorium using the mini bus service.
3. What is your most memorable moment at KEC?
There are so many memorable KEC moments but I love watching the dedicated Toddler team in action. Young adult leaders who volunteer their Easter break to lovingly care for littlies so that their parents can benefit from undisturbed bible teaching in the auditorium. That is christian community in action.
We also love the Mountain Camp dining room buzz, where the volunteer leaders gather to relax, get to know each other, share their stories, consume some of the most amazing meals and occasionally get into mischief.
4. Why do you volunteer at KEC?
We love volunteering as leaders because we are part of a KEC family, who are blessed by God to serve the body of Christ, who gather at Katoomba, to grow and be refreshed by the faithful teaching of God’s word. These families return to their churches throughout N.S.W. energised to keep following Jesus in the places God has planted them. What could be better than that?!
